And some more waiting…

Posted by: Kannan V   in General

Had been on the look out for the brown truck.. ok in England, its the red truck, waiting for my Windows 7 party pack and after 3 days of Ultimate on it, my new Western Digital 10K RPM raptor dosen’t want to read any more, looks like it has become more like me, i take a book read half a page and get bored and walk away!

I cant complain now :) , so RMA’d it and waiting for my replacement to arrive to install Win 7 all over again, i will make an image next time to save some install-drivers-config-tweaking-softwares-………….. ufff lots to do.

It just dosent seem right to me…..

Posted by: Kannan V   in General

This post is not to make it a flame or jolts around here, this is just my idea of how everything has become commerce these days and devoid of any ethical values, many honest people wanted to host this party and did not get it, if they did not want it in the first place, they shouldn’t have applied. These people may be hurting the honest crowd, they just take advantage of the circumstances and not in the spirit what Microsoft was trying to accomplish.

A few reasons I really get annoyed on such behaviour….

* Steals the opportunity from people who really want to host the party and enjoy the process. (The party idea has made me think something creative, I have never designed a T-shirt and now I have done something creative, that’s something am happy about)

* A “Signature Edition” is something I would love to have and keep it for myself.

* Trying to make a quick buck, am not jealous of him making money, but where is the ethics, is money everything in life?

* Human life has been surrounded by Rules and rules and more rules because of a couple of idiots like this.

If I have really offended anyone reading this, yes you got offended because you offended us honest people and I really don’t care,  I made an agreement to host a party and I will, come what may, for me a persons word is their integrity, if I had accepted something, I have to do it.

and

Me being a enthusiast, no one can lay hands on my collector special edition of the Win 7 pack.

Posted by: Kannan V   in General

Skyride rocked London today, giving thousands of cyclists an unforgettable opportunity to ride some of the worlds most famous streets, traffic free, and show their communal love for the bicycle.

The event was fantastic with some 50,000+ bicycles along the famous streets and landmarks of London, and it was really a thrilling and rejuvenating experience. Have a glimpse here.

Understanding the Creative Process

Posted by: Kannan V   in Photography

I wonder if any of you share this common scenario from my experiences as a landscape photographer? I find myself returning to full awareness, one knee sodden from immersion in a cold and muddy puddle, having crouched atop a hill in the wind and rain for an hour and a half making a single image. The hunger to make photographs has often taken over my mind for extended periods of time, inducing an almost trance-like state. The physical discomforts are irrelevant to me as I make an image; my mind is lost in a place where the physical no longer matters. In this dream space I’m unaware of the passage of clock-time, that mechanical manifestation of universal time, because I’ve become totally immersed in subjective-time. This is a plastic realm where seconds can stretch into hours and, conversely, hours can be compressed into an invisibly small interval. The question arises, just where does my mind go to when I’m making a photograph?

Simply put, when I enter a reverie whilst making an image my mind goes to a place where I can access my creativity. Sometimes I enter an almost meditative state, but this altered state of consciousness is not a mystical condition. It is a state that we are all capable of through application and concentration. By concentration I do not mean the kind of furrowed brow, pained expression that might have the caption ‘Thinking!’ appended to it but rather a calm exclusion of irrelevances, a state oddly more akin to peaceful daydreaming. It’s time to answer the related and crucial question of where does creativity come from?

If you have read till here and have the interest for more to know where creativity comes from, here is the link to the 3 page original article.

Fascinated by the Moon

Posted by: Kannan V   in Photography

There is some fascination about the moon, the energy, the vibrancy and the mood it provides, a quite solitary walk on a mountain or a beach side on a moon lit day with the camera, then its a sure shot way to get lost in the vast photogenic captures that one can create.

Hide and seek

Here is one such capture I made on a lovely full moon day that’s not hidden in clouds, a rare one in London, its either cloudy or the moon is on the wrong side, or its just a slice of it, when all comes together, it means more work for my want-to-try-the-moon-one-day Canon 100-400mm lens.

Took about 30+ captures with various settings and shutter speeds, some clouds also moved in at the right time to give some added visual appeal.

More to be posted as i process them, follow them on – http://www.flickr.com/photos/vividscapes
